As a key partner of Insurance Advisernet, it was a privilege for 360 Underwriting Solutions to be sponsoring IA’s first Sydney Empowering Women event of 2019, on the 22nd of May!

As we all know, there are still some key barriers for gender balance in businesses – some of which can include the following:

  • career development
  • personal development
  • balancing family and business life
  • social or cultural fear of failure
  • access to advice and building strong support network

Traditionally, 360 believe empowering women and “gender equality” has been a women’s movement for women. However, we don’t often speak about the effect on men, and their relevance to affecting this change in the world. In an industry so male-dominated, it can feel overwhelming at times, however we also acknowledge the strong male leaders and mentors out there, who have opened the gates for gender balance. These men, along with the strong women paving the way, make it easier for each new generation of females to play on the same ground as their male counterparts.

At 360, Co-owners and Directors, Denis Morrissey and Chris Lynch are committed to creating a set of values that anchor the business to its Brokers and their clients. Over the past 2 years they have built the business off the back of great relationships developed over the years, but also by surrounding themselves with key staff who align to the business’ values. We are proud to be a part of such an important and relevant journey of Empowering Women in today’s world, knowing that greater than 60% of our total employees are female, and that 4 out of 7 key leadership positions within the business belong to women. More importantly, the “360-way” is that everyone has a voice, and is heard at the 360-boardroom table, regardless of their gender.

It is 360’s intention to collaborate and work in partnership with our brokers as individuals, to provide opportunities for brokers to be more relevant to their client base, so that they can not only look after their existing customers but grow their businesses with confidence knowing they have our support.
